And we were off to the farm today. I had big plans to get some great portrait shots of the boys with the fall foliage at its peak. Unfortunately I forgot the camera.

Mama Fail.

So all I could do was snap a few with my phone.

They did have big fun in the leaves though.

When did they get big enough to do this all by themselves?

Playgrounds are infinitely more fun with independence!

Thankfully I’ve still got this little guy to snuggle.

Tips on Building a House. i.e. Don’t make our mistakes

Tip #1 — Securing financing for construction will easily take twice as long as you think it should. Start the process long before you want to start building.

Tip #2 — Hire a contractor who also runs a slaughter house. You might just get some free bacon.

Tip #3 — When you mark the front of your house placement, confirm whether that’s the front of the porch or the front door. If they mark the house wrong… It’ll cost you. To the tune of a couple hundred dollars. Oops.

A beautiful Friday evening in October. Dinner outside our favorite market.
We let the boys run wild after we ate.

These kids do not sit still.

rebirth

Once upon a time, 5 years ago, I started a blog.  Back when blogs were everywhere.  Before the facebook explosion.  I loved it.

Then I had 3 kids.  We sold our house and moved.  And the blog platform was cumbersome. And took a lot more time and effort than I had. 

So I’ve been silent since 2011.  

BUT. 

Now I have 3 kids. And we’re building a house. And there are quite a few people in my life that don’t ‘do’ facebook.  Not to mention, I like blogs. A lot more than tagged pictures and status updates. 

So here I am again. Using wordpress.  With great optimism of frequent postings. 

(of course, I do still have those 3 tiny kids)

I’m glad to be back.
